Customer for life – House-Autry Mills upgrades their BatchMaster ERP for food
Whatever the folks at House-Autry Mills get into, they do so for the long term.
The House family moved from England to build a flour mill in Newton Grove, North Carolina way back in 1812, and they have been providing Southern Crafted Goodness there ever since. They merged with Autry Brothers Mill Co. in 1967 and continue to manufacture and sell a wide variety of high-quality breaders, spice blends, and sauces across the country.
As their business expanded and grew more complex, House-Autry Mills realized they could no longer rely on their paper and spreadsheet-based processes and models. They implemented BatchMaster, adopting the original BatchMaster Enterprise application integrated to Microsoft Dynamics GP financial software.
Fast forward to 2020 where House-Autry continues to experience strong growth in both its foodservice and retail businesses. Product offerings are expanding with the launch of their new Flavor Expressions line of products, and the acquisitions of Captain Foods and Food Masters product lines.
Facing an ERP upgrade decision to support their expanding businesses, they found a match with BatchMaster ERP with SAP Business One. It would allow them to incorporate more business activities into one system, with a single interface that provided an improved user experience. The choice was an easy one for House Autry Mills. BatchMaster industry specific manufacturing modules are built completely within SAP Business One with a single database and look & feel, it mapped to their production, warehouse, quality assurance, and accounting processes as before, and staff familiarity with BatchMaster would ease the transition.
When asked about his expectations for the new system, CFO Derrick Marconi said “We expect an increase in both efficiency and functionality. A reduction of processing and data entry time should result in less duplication of effort and less paper, all resulting in reduced costs. With the single system, we anticipate improved data reliability, as well as increased ease of data retrieval and reporting.”
